Annual Book Sales

In addition to our on-going books sales at each branch, our library has four annual book sales each year:Seeley's Bay Branch holds a sale on the Saturday of the annual Frost Fest
Lyndhurst Branch holds a sale on the Saturday of the annual Turkey Fair
Escott Branch holds a sale on the Saturday of the annual Spring Thing in May
Lansdowne Branch holds a large sale on the Saturday of the Christmas Craft Fair (near end of October)
Escott Spring Thing
There are no strangers in Escott - just friends you haven't met yet!
Join us on in Escott for our annual Spring Thing celebration held the first Saturday after the May long weekend.This one day event is full of family activities and entertainment. You can shop at our used book sale, white elephant sale, and silent auction. Stop by the booths of our local vendors and community groups to see their wares or learn about their organizations.
Step back in time in the Victorian salon on the 2nd floor of Springfield House and enjoy tea, sandwiches and some very yummy treats baked by our many wonderful volunteers. Is tea not your thing? Our Friends of the Library put on a barbeque all day long, breakfast sandwiches, coffee and juice in the morning and burgers, hotdogs, cold drinks and frozen treats the rest of the day.
For the young kids and kids at heart there is face painting, balloon animals, crafts, games and activities. All free. 2012 was the first year of the Lego car rally and the race was on to build the fastest cars.
There is a loom ready for weaving and demonstrations during the day of weaving, rug hooking, spinning, chair caning and quilting.
As a proud participant of Doors Open Ontario, Springfield House and the Archives (former Escott Town Hall) are open to explore. Also, find out how you can contribute to the Lakes and Island, Times Past Digitization Project.

Celebrate the season at Springfield House
Please join us for a seasonal open house at the Archives, Library and Museum. Enjoy the beauty of the Christmas decor, listen to festive music, and purchase some handcrafts. You will surely enjoy the seasonal holiday crafts to make for all ages. There is a tea room full of goodies to sample, soups, breads, and baked treats.The event is held at 1365 County Rd 2, Escott Ontario, presented by Leeds and the Thousand Islands Public Library, Historical Society, and Municipal Heritage Committee.
